Producers casting for movie actors
By CATHY DOBSON
A group of budding young producers are holding a casting call this Friday and Saturday in preparation for its first feature-length film.
Men and women aged 18 to 30, interested in either major roles or becoming extras, are invited to The Story at 179 Christina St. N. Auditions take place both days between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
"It's a dramatic comedy about high school grads deciding what to do with their lives," says Nathan Colquhoun, one of the writers and directors.
He is collaborating with Mark Tetreault of Sprowt Studio, Tony Frangis, Michael Higgins and Darryl Silvestri to create a 90-minute film that they hope to show at the Imperial Oil Centre downtown.
Several of the producers and writers were behind Sarnia's first short film festival this past October.
Shooting is scheduled in Sarnia the last two weeks of January, Colquhoun said.
The film has about eight major roles and numerous jobs to be filled by extras.
