John Stewart on Crossfire

I like John Stewart. I watched this about 3 months ago, then Dave e-mailed it to me again today, I had to link to it. They asked John Stewart what politician gives him the most material, while he’s on Crossfire a show he beleives aids the politicians, not the people. His answer:

“The absurdity of the system provides us the best material, and that is best served by the theatre of it all, which by the way, thank-you both.”

I beleive the younger guy on the show who was freaking out a bit got fired after this episode and now the show is completely shut down. Jordon Cooper left this comment on this post “Tucker Carlson was fired after the show. A top CNN exec actually said, “I agreed with Jon Stewart”. Now Carlson’s show is called Tucker and is on MSNBC and it isn’t that good.”

  1. Personally I can’t stand either Stewart or Colbert. As someone who follows politics closely I don’t like gross oversimplifications that either guy uses in order to make the situation funny. Perhaps this type of misrepresentation could be called libel, or at least it should.

Personally I think that Canada’s Rick Mercer is far more funny and manages to maintain journalistic integrity most of the time.
